Wisconsin cranberry board set, corn board accepting nominations

Wisconsin’s cranberry board election has been certified.  Rochelle Hoffman of Tomah, Amber Bristow of Warrens, and Michael Gnewikow of Warrens began serving their three-year terms on the board this month.

The board oversees the collection and use of approximately $500,000 in checkoff assessment fees paid by Wisconsin cranberry growers.  The funding supports research, education, and the promotion of Wisconsin-grown cranberries.

The nomination period is open for the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board through November 1st.  There are three seats open for three year terms in the next election.  Growers in Districts 1, 2, and 7 representing northern, northwestern, central, and southeastern Wisconsin are eligible to be nominated.
