AGI Digital discusses data tracking in bins

Expanding technology inside grain bins is helping to increase farmer safety and security.

Harley Janssen is the VP of Product and Engineering with AGI Digital.

“I check the markets when I wake up, I check my weather station, and I kind of like to check what’s going on in my grain bins,” he shares.

Janssen, who also farms in northcentral Iowa, says bin sensors can track its inventory, temperature, and moisture, allowing growers to manage grain condition from their phone.

“I don’t have to go in a grain bin anymore,” he says.

He says digitizing the movement of grain can also help increase transparency throughout the supply chain which more consumers are demanding.

Brownfield interviewed Janssen during the recent Farm Progress Show in Iowa.
