A colder weather pattern shift ahead across the Heartland; late-season snows on the Plains

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal precipitation in northern New England and from southern Texas to the southern Atlantic Coast, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover the remainder of the country.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in southern Florida, the Pacific Northwest, and from the Great Lakes region into the Northeast should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in other areas of the country.
